Sanctuary Spa, Gallo Wine

With Mother's Day just around the corner, Sanctuary Spa wanted the team at Southpaw to come up with a campaign that would make Mother's feel loved and cared for at this special time of year. 

BRIEF

In my creative team, we collaborated on ideas, leading up to our final creative concept. To help mums relax this Mother's Day, we will create a print campaign in the style of Johanna Basford's colouring pages in her published book called the 'Secret Garden'.

 

Research suggests how powerful colouring pages can be in calming and soothing our minds. We decided that we wanted to physically give mums the tranquil Sanctuary Spa experience that we would hope to bring them, with our large selection of products from Sanctuary Spa. The print campaign would be found in magazines and handed out as flyers in Boots stores nationwide. 

 

Some of the colouring spreads encourage mums to find their sanctuary by encouraging them to pick up some colouring pencils and lose themselves in the page; forgetting mum duties for a few minutes while they relax in the moment. An extension of this idea is to create a Sanctuary Spa playlist; scanning the QR code on the spread, mums can colour while listening to some tranquil spa music. 

 

Another approach to this idea (my favourite concept) would be to encourage mums to cut out the colouring page in their magazine and to give it to their children to colour in for them; as every mum loves a hand-drawn Mother's Day gift, whilst having ten extra minutes to relax peacefully whilst they read the rest of their glossy magazine.
